Ayers Rock Resort Guest Survey Competition
Terms and Conditions
By entering the Ayers Rock Resort Guest Survey competition (competition), you acknowledge that you have read these terms and conditions and that you agree to be bound by them. Information on how to enter forms part of these terms and conditions.
This competition is being run by Voyages Indigenous Tourism Australia Pty Ltd ABN 82 146 482 591 (Voyages).

Who Can Enter?
To enter the competition, you must:
- reside in Australia
- be aged 18 years or above at the time of entering the competition.
Employees, directors or officers of Voyages, or their immediate families, are ineligible to enter.
How to Enter
The competition period commences at 5:00pm AEDT on 4th December 2024 and ends at 4:00pm AEDT on 20th December 2024 (competition period), and Voyages reserves the right to extend the competition end date at any time (subject to regulatory approval).
To enter the competition, you must complete our guest survey including the completion of section 4: prize entry - "Please tell us in 25 words or less what could be improved to provide you with a better experience staying at Voyages Ayers Rock Resort" and provide your email address so we can contact you if you win during the competition period.
No late entries will be accepted. Incomplete or incoherent entries will be invalid.
A limit of one entry to the competition per person applies.
Voyages reserves the right, at any time, to verify the validity of entries and entrants (including an entrant’s identity, age, employer, residency status/location and transaction value) and to disqualify any entrant who submits an entry that is not in accordance with these terms and conditions or who tampers with the entry process. In the event a winning entrant cannot provide proof of eligibility to the reasonable satisfaction of Voyages, the winner will forfeit the prize in whole and no substitute will be offered. Failure by Voyages to enforce any of its rights at any stage does not constitute a waiver of these rights.
Prize
The prize is described below and valued at $2,953 as at the publishing date of these terms and conditions.
The prize consists of:
- 3 nights' accommodation at Sails in the Desert Hotel, Ayers Rock Resort, in a Superior Room for 2 persons;
- Daily buffet breakfast in Ilkari Restaurant located in Sails in the Desert Hotel for 2 persons;
- Return airport shuttle bus transfer for 2 persons from Ayers Rock Resort to the hotel;
- Wintjiri Wiru Twilight for 2 persons;
- Sunrise Journeys for 2 persons;
- A Night at Field of Light Dinner for 2 persons
(the Prize)
Travel period is from 1 January 2025 – 31 December 2025. All travel must be completed by 31 December 2025 and cannot be extended.
The winner and their travel companion must travel at the same time (departing from and returning to the same Australian domestic port serviced by Virgin). The winner’s travel companion must be 18 years or over.
The prize cannot be redeemed during the following blackout periods:
- 5 April 2025 - 27 April 2025
- 28 June 2025 - 20 July 2025
- 20 September 2025 - 12 October 2025
Daily buffet breakfast excludes barista coffee and specialised tea. Accommodation, Wintjiri Wiru Twilight, Sunrise Journeys and A Night at Field of Light Dinner bookings must be made in advance with Voyages and are subject to availability at the time of booking. A government issued photographic identification will be requested upon check-in at Ayers Rock Resort for ID verification purposes. A credit card authorisation must also be provided upon check-in. This authorisation may be used to cover incidental charges including (without limitation) telephone charges, mini bar charges, room service charges, security bond or deposit for any breakages, damage or cleaning charges in excess of the normal level of cleaning incurred during your stay. Please note that Ayers Rock Resort no longer accepts cash as a form of payment.
Voyages makes every effort to operate Wintjiri Wiru Twilight, Sunrise Journeys and A Night at Field of Light as advertised. However, itineraries may need to be changed at short notice due to weather conditions, accessibility issues or other events beyond Voyages' control. If Voyages is unable to provide this due to events beyond Voyages' control, Voyages will offer you the choice of rebooking the same Wintjiri Wiru Twilight, Sunrise Journeys and A Night at Field of Light experience for another day or an alternative product that is equivalent to the advertised itinerary of a similar experience. By booking and participating in the Wintjiri Wiru Twilight, Sunrise Journeys and A Night at Field of Light experiences, you and any person included in the booking agree to comply with all local laws and customs (including those of cultural significance) that are informed of by Voyages.
By agreeing to these Terms and Conditions, you also agree to comply with the Guest Conduct Policy which is available here.
Bookings for all items of the Prize can be requested via email at [email protected], Monday - Friday between 09.00 - 17.00 AEDT. All bookings need to be made at least 14 days prior to travel. If you need to make changes to your booking, you must notify Voyages at least:
- 24 hours prior to Wintjiri Wiru Twilight (subject to availability); and
- 24 hours prior to A Night at Field of Light Dinner (subject to availability); and
- 24 hours prior to Sunrise Journeys (subject to availability); and
- 7 days prior to your stay at Sails in the Desert Hotel (subject to availability).
Additional spending money, meals (other than those included in the Prize), entertainment, taxes (other than GST), insurance, vaccinations, transport to and from departure point, items of a personal nature, in-room charges and all other ancillary costs are not included. Travel Insurance is not included in the Prize and we strongly recommend it is taken by the winner before travel.
If for any reason the winner does not travel (or redeem any part of the Prize) after making a booking, then the Prize (or that element of the Prize) will be forfeited.
The Prize will not be transferable to another person and cannot be sold. No part of a Prize is exchangeable or redeemable for cash or any other prizes.
If a Prize is not available for any reason, Voyages reserves the right to substitute the Prize with another item of equal or greater value if the winner agrees in writing and subject to any approvals from regulatory authorities. If the winner does not agree despite reasonable attempts by Voyages to reach an agreement and the Prize is not available due to circumstances beyond Voyages' control, Voyages may substitute the Prize with another item or items determined by Voyages to be of equal or higher value.
Selection of Winner
The winner will be chosen by random draw which will take place at 1:00pm AEDT on 2nd January 2025 at Voyages Indigenous Tourism Australia head office, 123 Pitt St, Sydney, NSW, Australia.
The first valid entry drawn will win the Prize as described below.
The winner/s will be personally notified via email.
The results of the draw will be final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into in relation to the results of the draw. This is a game of chance.
Voyages must distribute the Prize to the winner within 28 days of the draw.
Second Chance Draw
If a winner does not respond within a week of being notified that they have won the competition, that winner is not readily identified and reasonable efforts have been made by Voyages to identify the winner were unsuccessful, they will automatically forfeit the Prize and Voyages reserves the right to select another winner through a second chance draw.
If necessary, a second chance draw will be held on 20th January 2025 at the same time and place as the first draw. The first valid entry drawn will win the Prize.
The winner/s will be personally notified via email.
The results of any second chance draw will be final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into in relation to the results of the draw.
Voyages must distribute the Prize to the winner within 28 days of the draw.
Promotion and Marketing
By entering the competition, the winner agrees to participate in such promotional activity and material, all editorial activities relating to the promotion, including but not limited to being interviewed, filmed for broadcast and photographed, as Voyages may require without remuneration. The winner agrees to grant Voyages a perpetual and non-exclusive licence to use any such footage and photographs in all media worldwide and the winner/s (and their companion) will not be entitled to any fee for such use.
Each winner also consents to the use and publication of their name, image and any other details provided by the winner in any marketing material without any further reference or payment to the winner. The winner may request for Voyages to limit the amount of personal information that are used or published in the marketing materials.
Standard Terms
Voyages reserves the right to amend the competition and its terms and conditions at any time and for any reason, subject to regulatory approval, and will notify entrants of any such amendments as soon as reasonably practicable.
In the case of an intervention of any outside act, agent or event which prevents or significantly hinders Voyages’ ability to proceed with the competition on the dates and in the manner described in these terms and conditions, including but not limited to vandalism, power failures, tempests, natural disasters, acts of God, civil unrest, strike, war, act of terrorism and pandemics, Voyages may in its absolute discretion cancel the competition and recommence it from the start on the same conditions at a time suitable to Voyages, subject to any written direction given under State Regulation.
Nothing in these terms and conditions limits, excludes or modifies or purports limit, exclude or modify Voyages' liability in relation to the consumer guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL) (Schedule 2 of the Consumer and Competition Act 2010 (Cth)) (Non-Excludable Guarantees Liability).
Except for any liability that cannot by law be excluded, including the Non-Excludable Guarantees Liability, Voyages (including its respective officers, employees and agents) excludes all liability (including negligence) for any personal injury, or any loss or damage (including loss of opportunity) whether direct, indirect, special or consequential, arising in any way out of the competition including:
(a) any technical difficulties or equipment malfunction (whether or not under Voyages’ control);
(b) any theft, unauthorised access or third party interference;
(c) any entry or prize claim that is late, lost, altered, damaged or misdirected (whether or not after their receipt by Voyages) due to any reason beyond the reasonable control of Voyages;
(d) any variation in prize value to that stated in these terms and conditions;
(e) any tax liability incurred by the winner or entrant; or
(f) use of the prize.
To the extent permitted by law including the ACL, if the competition is not capable of running as planned including by reason of technical failure, fraud or any cause beyond Voyages' control, Voyages may cancel or suspend the competition or invalidate any affected entries, subject to regulatory approval.

Voyages may, for an indefinite period, unless otherwise advised, collect personal information through the competition and use and disclose the information to conduct the promotion and for promotional, marketing, publicity, research and profiling purposes, including sending electronic messages to the entrant and any other purpose set out in Voyages' privacy policy. Entrants should direct any request to opt out, access, update or correct information to Voyages. Personal information collected through the competition includes first name, last name, contact phone number, email address, gender and age group. Voyages may disclose personal information to subsidiary and related companies, third parties or regulatory bodies, including but not limited to agents, contractors and service providers for the purposes set out in this clause.
By participating in this competition, entrants release and hold harmless Facebook and Instagram from any and all liability associated with this competition. Voyages and entrants acknowledge that this competition is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Facebook or Instagram. Entrants acknowledge that they are providing information to Voyages and not to Facebook or Instagram.
Voyages is not liable for any tax implications arising from prize winnings, including fringe benefits tax. Independent financial advice should be sought.
Voyages reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual who Voyages reasonably believes has breached any of these terms and conditions or engaged in any unlawful or other improper misconduct calculated to jeopardise the fair and proper conduct of this competition. Any entrant disqualified under this clause is prohibited from any further participation in the competition. Voyages’ legal rights to recover damages or other compensation from such an offender are reserved.
The laws of New South Wales apply to this competition. Entrants submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the laws of New South Wales.
