The Lawn Gallery
Local Anangu Artwork
Operated by Ayers Rock Resort
Daytime
Year Round
30 mins - 1 hour
A unique opportunity to meet Anangu artists, experience the creation of artwork and purchase a piece to take home with you.
Please note, through our strong relationship with Anangu communities, leaders and local art centres, we ask that you respect the following protocols:
- Purchase art when the Lawn Gallery is open.
- Timings have been set with Anangu leaders to support children's engagement with school and allow space for other cultural commitments.
- Respect the purchase price set by the artist.
- Anangu are skilled in their craft. Please do not barter or bargain with artists.
- Ask the artist to share the story of the artwork.
- Every artwork tells a story. Artists are generally very happy to share the story of their artwork with you and sign the back of the work.
- Ask to take a photo with the artist of your selected work.
- Always ask prior to taking photos and respect Anangu requests to not be photographed.
- The Lawn Gallery is open daily, however cultural commitments at times may mean no artists are present. Artworks are sold direct to the buyer. For works accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity, we encourage you to visit Maruku Arts and Walkatjara Arts at the Cultural Centre in the Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park, or the Gallery of Central Australia located between Desert Gardens Hotel and Emu Walk Apartments.
