A CELEBRATION OF INDIGENOUS ART

ART GALLERIES ARE A LITTLE DIFFERENT OUT HERE

At Ayers Rock Resort, we pride ourselves on celebrating Indigenous Art and acknowledge the role it plays in both sustaining one of the world’s oldest living cultures and fostering understanding and appreciation. We recognise it as an integral part of Australia’s identity. From traditional to contemporary practices, the vibrancy and rich story-telling woven into Indigenous art will leave you with a feeling of awe and a yearning for more.

Have you visited the Resort and found a piece of art that you can't live without?

Discover the indigenous culture of Uluru

European explorers may not have "discovered" Uluru until the 1870's, but the site has long been a place of spiritual significance for Indigenous Australians, who have lived in the area for more than 20,000 years.

How to experience the indigenous culture in Uluru

Telling stories is one of the things that makes us human. We use stories to make sense of the world around us, which is why hearing the tales of another culture is such a powerful experience: it lets us see the world through someone else’s eyes.
